My love for reading came in the 5th grade. My teachers' name was Mrs. Carol. She read "Old Yellow" to the class over a few weeks that year. Even before she finished, I was so hooked on books! I couldn't wait to get to school, and hear her read the next word, the next sentence, the next paragraph! By the end of that school year, I had checked out and read every book that caught my eye for one reason or another in the school library. I've read everything you've posted on facebook Shelly, and all I can say is where is the next part!? Good luck to you, and all your endeavors! Thank you for sharing. ♥

Thanks Angel. Great story too!

I would love to sit down and be creative writing something, but my creativity is now going into crocheting and knitting items for my two youngest granddaughters. Then there is the paperwork for the taxes that I must organize for my husband. He always does them. The house has been ignored and with spring coming guess what that means!

Hi, Shelley! You wrote to me in Feb of 2010 requesting info about becoming published. Since that time we have developed a fast track for writers of merit. Let me know if you would like to get information about it. Sorry to take so long, but it took awhile to do a good job. Hope to hear from you, and thanks for contacting Mother's House Publishing!

Jacquelin,
I sent you an e-mail, however I'm not sure it went through your security screen. I would be interested in talking with you.

Hi,
I saw your post on Ginny's About.com blog. I responded there, don't know how often you drop by so wanted to let you know. I admire you for finishing a novel. I have four novels in various states of completion. I just can't seem to get all the way through one let alone the re-writes. I'm a Grammar Nazi and can't just "write" without constantly editing myself. My goal for 2001 is to just finish one of these novels!

Maria,

Thank you Maria for your comments!
I love the challenge of National Write a Novel in a Month (NaNoWriMo), where you give yourself permission to just write and ignore grammar issues. The challege forces you to write at least 1200 words per day for 30 days. Now, my first novel although I wrote it in about the same time frame, I wrote in May and not with NaNo (which is in November). However, I have two more completed novels because of the challenge. But you don't need a challenge to take on this mind set and finish your novels!
I've been asked to write about how I was able to complete my first novel and about my writing life, so I hope you joined my site to get my update blogs. I would love to hear your comments and thoughts on my writing. I'm not very good at grammar, but I'm learning. I probably update my first chapters monthly from fans who catch my mistakes and give feedback.
I joined your site, so hopefully we can learn from each other!
Take care!

Rasana,
I'd love to. My e-mail is swright011699@msn.com if you want to get in touch with me directly.
